PRINCIPAL/SENIOR HARDWARE DESIGN ENGINEER

Main Purpose of the Job:

Responsible for design and transfer to production of board-level and assembly-level base station products. The role may also include maintenance of legacy production designs, including any re-design needed to manage component obsolescence and cost reduction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintenance of hardware designs including digital, FPGA, analogue and PSU functions.
  • Circuit design, simulation and prototyping.
  • Preparation of schematic diagrams, bill of materials and layout guidelines.
  • Preparation of design specifications including definition of software device drivers.
  • Organise manufacture of prototypes, including ECO generation, purchasing of specialised components and liaison with sub-contract manufacturer.
  • Liaise with test engineer to develop full DVT and production tests.
  • Prototype board bring-up.

  • Experience in one or more of the following software tools / languages desirable; C, Linux Script, Labview, Spice.
  • Familiarity with base station equipment design practices, and relevant regulatory requirements desirable.
  • Exposure to RF electronic design desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience in working with sub-contract manufacturers.

FPGA DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Main Purpose of the Job:

Design and development of FPGA for 5G Base Station product line. The role involves developing board control logic, high speed interconnect, and data path in a multi-processor/multi-device topology.
